Head of The Betawi Culture Institution (LKB) Tatang Hidayat stated, effort for legalizing all Betawi art and culture studios is very urgent thus the City Administration can give budget stimulant for coaching and trainings so that artists' quality would meet market requirements.

"Currently, there are only 40 studios that have legal entity. We keep encouraging thus other hundreds more art studios will also have it," expressed Hidayat, during the gathering event of Traditonal Artists and Public Figure of Betawi, in Nyi Ageng Serang Building, Kuningan, South Jakarta, Thursday night (7/9).

Therefore, he continued, LKB persuades the City Administration, entrepreneur betawian artists, and citizens to synergy improving betawian artists quality.

"If the studios have no legal entity, good management, and professional administration, then it cannot be claimed by the government, and the budget also cannot be supported. As the support and grant should be accounted well," he disclosed.

At this time, continued the Former Commander of the National Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Banser,  the council's Regional Legislation Board (Balegda) is planning  the draft bylaws (Raperda) about Preservation and Development of Betawi Cultural .

"I'm optimistic the draft bylaws could be legalized by Legislative Council this year. It could be legal protection of Regional Government in guiding, helping preservation and development of Betawi cultural . Thus in future, betawi art and culture could be a mainstay of tourism services in the capital," he told.
